A site currently used for commercial purposes is to be examined on the basis of its zoning potential with regard to a transformation into residential use. The legal framework conditions (centre zone) allow a great deal of flexibility in terms of future uses (living or working), which is why these determinations are based on a well-founded real estate analysis.
On the basis of this strategic planning, a study project was carried out with 4 architectural studios in competition. The winning project «Plug-In / Pile-Up» by Oxid Architektur is inspired by the circular economy and is sustainable on various levels.
